Can I cancel a booked lesson?

-  Yes you can. However, cancelling a lesson within 24 hours breaches our policy resulting in a decrease in 2tor rating and a minor fee. A full refund will be provided to the user who booked the lesson.

Can I reschedule a booked lesson?

-  Yes you can. A lesson can only be rescheduled once, if the same lesson needs to be rescheduled again then the 2tor will need to cancel instead. Cancelling a rescheduled lesson will result in a full refund for the user who booked the lesson and a minor fee for the 2tor.

How do I get paid for teaching?

-  You will be paid after the lesson has been successfully completed. You will need to have a Stripe (similar to PayPal) account in order to receive payment for lessons. You can sign up for a Stripe account here – this will require Credit/Debit card details. We will also be including PayPal in the near future.

Do I need to become verified to teach others?

-  No you do not. However, it is highly recommended that you do become verified since users can see if a 2tor is verified or unverified which may affect their decision to book your lessons.

How do I become verified?

-  You will need to provide a Working With Children (WWC) certificate and have a National Police Check, see below for more details.

How do I obtain a working with children certificate (WWC)?

How do I build up my rating?

-  By providing a great learning experience for your students and ensuring that you plan out the structure of each lesson beforehand. This will make each lesson more enjoyable and run more smoothly. Also, reducing the amount of times you cancel or reschedule your own lessons will ensure your rating stays high. For a basic guide on how to structure lessons and teach click here.

How do I set up lesson?

-  On iOS and Android: Go to the side menu > List a Lesson > Click on the big plus sign

-  On our website: Go to the Lessons tab which can be found in the top menu.

How do I Accept or Reject incoming booking requests?

  • On both the app and website menus: refer to Pending Requests > Accept or Reject for each pending request
  • You will also receive a notification when a user sends a booking request

How do I set up my timetable?

-  On iOS and Android: Go the side menu > Set My Availability > choose a preferred time/date and tap on a square in the calendar > hit the top right button > choose which subjects/skills to allocate to the slot.

-  On our website: Menu > Set my Availability > Click on the time/date slots that you are available > Click edit > Choose which lesson to assign to the selected slots

-  Users will be able to book for these lessons at the specified time and date slots

What do the colours on the calendar mean?

  • Orange – Available
  • Dark Orange – Booking Booking Confirmed(As 2tor)
  • Light Blue – Awaiting 2tor approval
  • Light Green – Booking Confirmed(As Student)
  • Green – Full/Booked out
  • Black – 2tor Cancelled Lesson
  • Dark Grey – Student Cancelled Lesson
  • Dark Blue – Completed Lesson
  • Grey – Selected

How do I edit my 2tor details?

-  On iOS and Android: Go to the side menu > My 2tor Profile

-  On our website: Menu > My 2tor Profile

-  Users will be able to book for these lessons at the specified time and date slots

How do I edit my lessons?

-  On iOS and Android: Go to the side menu > Lessons > Swipe left on a lesson

-  On our website: Menu > Lessons

-  Lessons that have already been booked will not be affected, only future lessons.

If I am a 2tor, can I still book other 2tor's lessons to learn?

-  Yes you can. You can both teach and learn at the same time by searching for lessons via the Search function on the Home page of both our mobile app and website.

Can I get a discount on the administration fee?

-  Yes, as you continue to teach using 2tor the administration fee will be reduced incrementally. This is based on the total number of lessons taught.

Can I operate under a business name?

-  Yes, you can specify your actual name and a 2tor name which would be the correct place for your business name. You can choose to display your actual name or your 2tor name.

How do I enter my licences?

-  This is included in your 2tor Profile details. You can enter your licences by editing your 2tor Profile or providing any licenses when applying to become a 2tor. You may also edit your license details at any time after you become a 2tor.

Can I enter my teaching qualifications?

-  Yes, this information is captured in the 2tor Profile details.

Is my information secure?

-  Yes, we can assure you that our app and website are hosted on secure servers and that any data is securely stored. We do not give out or sell any user information as we believe that privacy, safety, and security are very important.

Do I need to use my private address as my teaching location?

-  No, you can choose to enter a Public Address or specify that you are Willing to Travel.

As a 2tor, what are some safety measures I should consider during a lesson?

If you are meeting someone for the first time

At a private or home address:

-  Ensure you are accompanied by another person.

At a public address:

-  Ensure it is at a safe environment

e.g Library, University, School, learning centres

Can I teach more than 1 student per lesson?

-  Yes, you can specify this in your lessons’ details by changing the ‘Max no. of students’ option. The default number for each lesson is 1.

Can I teach in different languages?

-  Yes, you can specify this in your lessons’ details by selecting and filling the ‘Lesson can also be taught in’ option.

As a user, what are some safety measures I should consider during a lesson?

Book a lesson with a verified 2tor, these tutors will have a working with children certificate or a federal police check.

Check their certificate number is valid with the government database, here

At a private or home address:

-Ensure you are accompanied by another person or family member.

At a public address:

-Ensure the lesson is located at a safe environment

e.g Library, University, School, learning centres.

Can I cancel a booking request?

  • Yes, you can cancel a booking request before the 2tor Accepts or Rejects the lesson. If the request is still pending and the lesson date/time has passed the request will automatically be cancelled.

Can I cancel a booked lesson?

  • Yes you can. However cancelling within a 24 hour period breaches our policy and will not result in a full refund.
  • If the lesson is cancelled with more than 24 hour notice then you will receive a full refund.
  • Please ensure that you are able to attend a booked lesson to avoid having to cancel with late notice.

Can I reschedule a booked lesson?

  • Yes you can as long as you have signed-up and are logged in. A lesson can only be rescheduled once, if the same lesson needs to be rescheduled again then you will need to cancel instead. Cancelling a rescheduled lesson within 24 hours will not result in a full refund.

How do I search for a 2tor?

  • You must first be logged in to search for a 2tor. If you haven’t signed up yet, you can do so for free here
  • On iOS/Android and when logged in on our website: The Home page will display all 2tors near you or the location you have specified. You can click on the 2tor pins to go to their profile and view their calendar and lessons.

How do I book a lesson?

  • You can book a lesson by selecting an available lesson time slot on the calendar of a 2tor and sending a booking request. You can access a 2tor’s calendar via their 2tor profile.
  • A lesson cannot be booked within 24 hours of the specified time slot

What do the colours on a 2tor’s calendar mean?

How do I check my booked lessons?

  • Booked lessons will appear in History on both our app and website.

How do I edit my user details?

  • On iOS and Android: Go to the side menu > Settings > Edit Profile
  • On our website: Settings > My Profile

How do I pay for a lesson?

  • You can pay using credit/debit card details or via your Stripe account. The PayPal option will be coming soon.
  • Payments are sent through after a 2tor accepts a booking request as a form of deposit. The 2tor only receives the payment after the lesson has been successfully completed.
  • Full refunds for cancellations are provided as long as they do not breach our 24 hour policy.

How do I rate or write a review for a 2tor?

  • After completing a lesson with a 2tor, you will prompted to rate your experience. As you continue to take lessons with that 2tor you will be prompted to write a review. Alternatively, you can go to your lesson history to provide a rating and write a review for the 2tor after your lesson has been successfully completed.

How do I report a 2tor?

  • You can email us at Admin@2torapp.com. Please ensure that you provide the detailed reason and the 2tor’s details. Reports will be investigated thoroughly and action taken accordingly as per required.

Can I apply to become a 2tor and still book other 2tor's lessons to learn?

  • Yes you can. After becoming a 2tor, you can still search for and book lessons via the Search function on the Home page of both our mobile app and website.

Can other users see my personal information?

  • No, only your name and photo will be displayed to a 2tor when you request to book their lesson.

If I am a 2tor, can I still book other 2tor's lessons to learn?

-  Yes you can. You can both teach and learn at the same time by searching for lessons via the Search function on the Home page of both our mobile app and website.

Is my information secure?

What if I’m not fluent in speaking English but still want to book a lesson?

-  Yes, you can specify your actual name and a 2tor name which would be the correct place for your business name. You can choose to display your actual name or your 2tor name.

How do I enter my licences?

-  Using the Filter settings, you can choose to search for 2tors that have indicated they are able to teach a subject or skill using another language. If you are unable to find a 2tor that can teach in your preferred language please let us know at Admin@2torapp.com
